I have seen a formula of backlink diversity:
40% of the links should be generic like http://www.site.com
40% can have an anchor text with your site name Site (linking to your site)
20% of links can have a keyword in the anchor text.

Don’t quote me on this, I read it a long time a go on a report by MarketSamurai, but I think it’s something like this

Thanks for the good post. Your spot on in terms of the anchor text which according to everything I am reading is being looked at by Google. Google wants to see some anchor text diversity and getting quality links over quantity of links, always pays off in the long term.
