Whether it is offline or online there are a lot of different potential strategies that can be used to promote a company nowadays. In the current digital era and with online spend increasing rapidly year on year video advertising is being undertaken by large blue chip companies as well more targeted niches and small businesses. Over the last twelve months video advertising has grown due to users’ desire to have moving content in front of them rather than images and text to display products.
The importance of tailored ads online
Videos are created and then placed across the internet and they are either strategically targeted to websites that are likely to have the correct potential clients visiting or they are placed on as many websites as possible for overall exposure. This latter tactic can be costly and can lead to very little conversions however.
Stand out from the crowd
With video advertising still being in the early days of its development in many ways the chances are that the competition may not have a subject area totally catered for yet. You have to create something exemplary and unique to attract a new following to your site and be that difference.
Increase engagement and activity
Having a video on your site encourages the user to interact whereas if you have solely text on the site your user is not interacting with you rather they are just reading and then moving on. A well-produced video will encourage trust with your brand and site.
Before making a video you need to decide who your target audience are. If you are targeting corporate companies or large brands they are less likely to want to see cartoons or large different colour. Conversely, the promotion of a fun or discounted offer is more likely to capture the user’s attention if it is big, bright and bold.
Educate your users
One of the main ways videos are being used is to showcase a particular product or service. You can either show a demonstration of how the product works or provide a showcase of why that service is right for them. If someone is unsure whether a product or service is for them they are likely to need that reassurance and that is something a video can subtly offer.
High in the search engine results
If you have a video that is advertising a broad subject area it is very unlikely that it will be seen on the first page of the search engine’s results but if you are in a niche industry then a video may just get you seen in that sense. Each video has the possibility for description tags to be built in and that is something Google is actively looking for.
