The Secrets Of Advertising On AdFly

The Secrets Of Advertising On AdFlyI learnt about advertising on AdFly on a WSO, it was a long time ago, a lot of people created products where they revealed how to make money by using this traffic source. It was something new and everybody wanted to know what it is.

Today it really isn’t that much of a secret anymore, but still not that many people know about it. I have spent around $200 I guess for buying traffic on AdFly and similar sites and in this post I want to share what I learnt.

First off, what is AdFly? AdFly is a URL shortening service which pays for using it, because when you shorten a link with AdFly and someone clicks on it, they need to watch a full page ad for 10 seconds to get to the page and AdFly actually sells that ad space and generates revenue from that and shares a percentage of it. There are a ton of similar sites out there.

Buying that ad space on AdFly is actually really cheap and make money squeeze pages convert very well there. I think I was getting a single opt-in lead for around $0,06+, super cheap. This was the main thing for marketers to jump in when they heard how cheap the leads were.

I built a list of 1000+ subscribers by buying the cheapest traffic on AdFly that I could get and that was proxy traffic. According to the report that I have read, I should have started doing ad swaps, but I got caught up by building my list, tried to market to them, but they were just not responsive. After sometime of struggling with that list I finally started doing ad swaps, but it was too late. The already crappy leads were totally unresponsive and eventually I stopped using that list.

Now this strategy could have worked, if I had started ad swapping as soon as I had a list of 500 subscribers, the list would have been still fresh and responsive, I would have swapped my crappy leads with better ones and probably built a pretty good list.

It could have also worked out, if I had a good autoresponder, because every time I sent an email I was getting like 10 bounces and those subscribers were deleted. So by doing ad swaps I was actually shrinking my list because by mailing I was loosing like 10 subscribers and was getting like 2-5 subscribers in, if I was lucky. I was actually afraid of mailing my list :D , because it always ended by a loss to me.

Now there was another strategy to use to make money and it had nothing to do with ad swaps. The strategy was to buy US traffic, which of course was more expensive, but it was better quality traffic. All you needed to do was just create a squeeze page and set up a low cost offer for them to buy and people were reporting success, they were making sales from that traffic (if they didn’t lied). With that strategy you would have built a list by buying traffic, earning money from the offer and buying more traffic.

I don’t remember buying US traffic and I really don’t know did this work, but I think I would have better bought US traffic instead of proxy traffic and with less subscribers maybe I have earned some money. Well, I did learn some stuff from this and that’s what matters.

Don’t do the mistakes that I have done and you might earn some money using AdFly.
