JV Giveaways – Is It A Good Way To Build Your List?

JV giveaways Firstly what is a JV Giveaway event? It is when marketers create an event where they promote their own free products to get op-tins to their mailing lists. It can be in any niche but mostly in internet marketing and self help. All the marketers promote the event to potential customers. When a customer joins he can get all the products for free by signing up to different marketers lists.

It may sound complex but it really isn’t the complex part is handled by the event organizer, but in this blog post I want to talk about other stuff is it worthwhile to participate in these events. It is all clear for the customers they register and get free stuff, but how about the marketers?

I have been using JV giveaways to build my list when I was just getting started, but I don’t use them right now because I got tired of them. You need to register to so many events, set up your gifts in every single one of them wait for it to get approved maybe even tweak your squeeze page and then promote the event.

Well it can all be done with a software but it costs money. Also if you don’t upgrade in a JV giveaway event you will get like max 10 new subscribers to your list which is peanuts when you consider that these subscribers are low value to you because they have probably joined like 20 other marketers lists from the event and now have a full inbox of promotional emails. Usually they unsubscribe once they get the gift. So the gift has to be smart as well if you want to get anything out from these events.

And if you upgrade at a JV giveaway event you get much more subscribers because your gift gets placed on the first pages. I have heard that it is quite worth it but still it costs money and more work for you to set up multiple gifts, one time offers etc.

JV giveaways are a slow paced list building tool, but if you have the time you can scale it up and profit from them. By doing them long enough you can build a pretty decent list, but you should remember that you need to stand up from the crowd because the subscribers that you get will be joining tons of lists.

To sum up I want to say that if I wouldn’t have stopped using them I would have built a big list by now, so if you are consistent enough and have a good high converting funnel then you should try JV giveaways.
