Being environmentally friendly is one of the buzz topics of the moment, even the government and local councils are encouraging us to recycle and be aware of our energy usage. Over the last couple of years not only in the UK but around the world there has been a huge push for people to be more environmentally friendly, I am sure like many of you I have a bin for everything. I recycle most things from my baked bean cans to my food left overs. The reason I honestly do this is because the council gave me all these bins and so why not use them? If I am honest I do not think I would have personally invested in lots of different recycling bins because of the price and I am sure I will be not be alone with this reason.
Helping the environment
I think there is lots of small things we can all do to cut the consumption of energy and waste and I avidly do this daily, I have energy saving bulbs and never leave any electrical equipment on stand by. Another one of my energy saving techniques is plastic bags and I am now the proud owner of some ‘bags for life’, which I use to do my weekly shop with at the supermarket. They are great, no more draw in the kitchen bursting with plastic bags and no more split bags while I cart home the food.
The bags that I own are from the supermarket I shop at and bare their symbol and catch phrase. This made me think what a great idea they would be as a marketing tool for business. I have noticed that about fifty percent of shoppers in the supermarket have these bags, which indicates how popular they are. Whether you are a small business or a large one they could be a great marketing tool. Within the last few years marketing a business has been difficult due to the influx of social media and the budgets being pushed into this leaving little money for old fashioned marketing.
Bags for life
Bags for life are cheap to produce and you get a company to produce them with your logo on and even your company information if you wish. Why not think about giving them out to your current clients and asking for their feedback on them? It’s very rare that within corporate marketing your be able to produce a product and marketing tool that people will be happy to use outside of the office in their day to day lives. Marketing is extremely important and valuable how ever big your business is and this is a fun and on trend way of doing it.
