Writing Your First Blog Post

Writing Your First Blog PostYou have decided to follow the crowd and to create a blog of your very own. Congratulations! Blogging can be a lot of fun and it is a great way for you to meet new people who share the same interests as you do. Now that you have officially made the decision to create a blog, you probably have one all set up. You’re now waiting to make your first post as a serious blogger but the truth is that you just do not know where to start or what you should write in  your first post. If this sounds a lot like the problem you are currently facing, read on for some blogging advice.

Introduce Yourself!

The first thing you will want to do on your blog is to introduce yourself to your potential readers. It is a good idea for you to let people know a bit about who you are, because if you can connect with your readers, you will have a better blogging relationship. You could start out by greeting your readers and telling them your name. You may also want to tell your readers how old you are and where you are from. By no means do you ever have to include your full name and you do not have to state what town you are specifically from. Just the state you live in should suffice. You can give them a bit of insight about what you like, what you don’t like and what you are passionate about. If you’re in school, you could tell your readers about what you are majoring in and what your plans are for the future. You can include a picture of yourself so people know who you are.

What Is Your Blog About?

After you introduce yourself to the people who are reading your blog, you will probably want to let them know a bit about what you intend to blog about. If you are going to be blogging about healthy recipes, let them know. If your blog is going to be about your favorite fashionable finds, let your readers know. Additionally, if your blog is going to be about multiple topics, you may want to let your readers know that as well. You will see that when blog readers want to read about something specific, if you tag your posts with keywords as to what it is about, you will get more readers.

Now that you have some ideas as to what you should include in your very first blog entry, you should not hesitate to get started. Write something honest about yourself so that your readers can get to know who you are. Post a picture so they can see who you are as a person. Be sure to let them know what you intend to blog about. Remember that if you should get some comments on your first blog post, you should respond to them as well. Good luck!
